WBAI FY11 budget review

The WBAI draft FY11 budget was presented to the committee. The budget
calls for an income of about $2.3 million, last year it was about $2.2
million. There were bad days in the recent on-air fund raiser, the interim
General Manager hopes to recoup the difference with seven days of pitching
in December. The interim General Manager is projecting a 73.9% fulfillment
rate. A project called "WBAI Buddies" is also planned to add extra money to
WBAI through regular electronic funds transfers. A recent community event
had 600 attendees, and more community events are planned. Major donors are
also being worked on. There were problems for the past four years due to a
loss on confidence by listeners because they were not sent their premiums.
WBAI is proposing to pay a levy of about 5% for central services. Also 0.6
FTE was added for vacation replacements.

The committee discussed the budget. Risks and opportunities were
discussed. The committee asked for a list of consultants at WBAI. It was
noted that the WBAI LSB has to hire security guards for some meetings and
that makes board expenses higher. There was concern voiced over WBAI only
paying a 5% levy.

Motion: (Bruce Wolf) "To adjourn." (Passed without objection)

Adjourned 11:27 PM (ET).

Submitted by R. Paul Martin, Secretary.
